Wagon master’s Loren and Josie Parker – Our wagon masters, Loren and Josie, were excellent and professional in every manner possible. Upon meeting the amigos for the first time, they answered all our questions for the past 11 months. And there were many.
Loren and Josie took turns using their vehicle, taking four at a time across the US/Mexican border to obtain our FMM. In addition, some needed to go to the local money exchange or grocery store for provisions. No problem – they took everyone where they needed to go.
On our first night in Mexico, the amigos sat around a fire and expressed relief that we were in for an exciting adventure under the guidance of Loren and Josie. After our 30-day adventure, we were not disappointed. Every morning, 15 minutes before our departure, we had a meeting about the upcoming day’s event. Even though there was a script to read, they would provide additional information about the day’s trip—little titbits of knowledge gained from their experience.
For the next 30 days, Loren and Josie assisted us with our needs, whether to obtain propane, clean water, or a ride to the local grocery store; they were there with their vehicle. I never heard either one of them says “no” to one of our requests.
Legend has it that Batman and Robin were a fictional dynamic duel, while Loren and Josie are a true-to-life exceptional and experienced couple.
Baja Amigos – The handout provided on day one by Baja Amigo was outstanding. It was more than a guide and could be considered the bible of the 30 trips. In addition, providing a brief history of Mexico was a nice touch.
Suggestions for Baja Amigos – Encourage future amigos to create a Facebook page to illustrate to friends and family their adventure in Baja. Then, someone reading their post might think a 30-day adventure might interest them. I created a Facebook page for our 14 amigos, and at the end of our trip, we had 85 followers. Our Facebook page is Baja-Northeast Truckcampers. Next year’s page will be titled Baja-Northeast Truckcampers 2024.
In Summary – The trip was great, and our Wagon-masters Lorne & Josie could not have been any better. They were simply GREAT! We are going to a jamboree of truck campers in May and Baja Amigo will definately be on the agenda.
