Hello Dan and Lisa,
We are back home in Blind Bay and settling back into our normal routines. We both really enjoyed the trip and our Wagon-Masters Chris and Lindsey (plus Everest and Huckleberry of course) were excellent, they really went out of their way to make sure the trip was the best it could be, you made an excellent choice choosing them.
The activities were very enjoyable, the grey whale excursion was a treat and the beach camping was fantastic (even the night at Tecolate when the Mexicans partied until 6.00am) it was all part of the Baja experience. The Hotel Campground in Guerrero Negro where we stayed for the whale tour is small but ourselves and the Mcleods made do as was Loreto but we made it work.
Chris & Lindsay had a Starlink which they generously allowed us to use. We left the group for a couple of days in Los Bariles and travelled to La Ventana where we have friends, we then rejoined in La Paz, we left Hwy 1 at San Antonio and travelled to our destination and returning to La Paz.
We would have preferred a little more beach time than Loreto and La Paz on the return trip but do not know the logistics of that for campgrounds. All in all it was a great trip (except for the 25kms of hell roads north of Guerrero Negro 😱) and we throughly enjoyed it, the whole group got along and we are still in contact with each other. I dont know if we would do the Baja again but the mainland trip is a thought in the back of our minds (not this year though).
We would like to thank you both for all the hard work that has gone into the organizing of the trip and the great binder you supplied, it was very informative.
Martin & Elaine
