In a word, the trip was FANTASTIC! There are many reason for that: Number 1: Our wagon master, Freddy, could not have been better. He set the tone for the trip upon first meeting all of us. Because of his attitude of inclusiveness everyone got along and bonded. He went out of his way to guarantee our safety, our campsites, extra opportunities like fishing (and cooking for us!) convenient gas stations, local knowledge and history. He always displayed a great sense of humor and compassion. We feel like we made a new life-long friend.
Our complements to you for the very informative tour book. It is apparent that it took many years of experience and editing to complete. We used it more than once each day! It was also very useful to see what to expect the next day and make our plans. I also very much appreciated ready the history of each destination.
Another compliment: the radios, short and long wave. Without them we could easily have gotten out of sync. There were many occasions when one or another rig had to drop out of line to recheck compartment doors, use the bathroom, or check on broken mirrors. With the radios we could all be made aware of these unscheduled stops, especially Freddy since he was in the lead. We could also check on each other as we were travelling. They were especially useful when Freddy had to warn us of Semi’s coming, construction ahead and pot holes.
Thank you also, Dan and Lisa for your patience with Denny and myself and our inability to commit till the last minute due to his health. He was able to completely relax (when not driving!! LOL) and is now rested to complete his treatment. Kudos to you and the entire team at Baja Amigos!! Muchos Gracias!!!
