322 km/200 m – We have reached the end of the tour and this morning we are headed for the Hotel Playa de Cortes & Trailer Park in Guaymas (GPS 27.91225 N, 110.94506 W) which has a full-service campground, pool, restaurant and bar. We should arrive shortly after lunch time and may stop for fuel and a body break on the way. We are hosting our “Farewell & Viva Mexico!” dinner at the restaurant this evening, time to kick back and enjoy our pool time and all the Mexico memories. This is also where the ferry departs to Santa Rosalia, BCS.
Guaymas located in the southwest part of the state of Sonora in northwestern Mexico located 117 km south of the state capital of Hermosillo, and 242 miles from the U.S. border, and is the principal port for the state. The municipality is located in the Sonora Desert and has a hot, dry climate and 117 km of beaches. The city’s formal name is the Heróica Ciudad de Guaymas. This is an industrial port, with nearby San Carlos being the major tourist attraction for its beaches. The city also has a well-attended annual carnival, which has been held since 1888.
