299 km/186 m – Today our destination is Pepe’s Hotel Posada & RV Park, a full service park (GPS 19.72342 N, 99.22111 W). We should arrive around lunchtime and have nothing planned, in the past we have had a meet and greet with Pepe, the owner. Sadly Pepe passed away in 2019 however you will be meeting with his daughter and son-in-law. There will be an opportunity to go for groceries, look around town and organize laundry and an RV wash if required.
Day 25 9:00 am Departure – You will join the Tail-Gunners as the entire group heads into the Mexico City. A small travel bag would be appropriate for two (2) overnight stays. A private bus has been arranged from the Pepe’s RV Park. Once you have reached the Zocalo, you will check-in to the Hotel situated near the main square. After checking in, lunch and meeting the guide, you will go on a short walking tour of the main square. You are free to dine out or in the Hotel as a group of on your own.
The next day the Tail-Gunners and guide will lead the group to the Turi-Bus station for a tour of the downtown core. Following the Turi-Bus experience you are free to explore and select a suitable dinner spot. You may do this as a group or not, this is your decision.
After breakfast you will say goodbye to the guide, check out of the hotel return travel to Tepotzotlan. We expect you to arrive at Pepe’s no later than Noon.
Day 28 8:30 am Departure – Everyone is invited to join the Tail-Gunners on a private bus to visit Teotihuacan, the most important and largest city of pre-Aztec central Mexico. This will be approximately a 1 hour drive, each way and will include time for a lunch stop on your return. This will be a guided tour of this stunning archeological site. At least one (1) Wagon-Masters will stay behind and you are expected to return to Pepe’s RV Park before 4:00 pm.
