Well it has been a great couple days in Loreto! As usual everyone had a great time at Marvin and Shelly’s house, Miguel and Martin did not disappoint, the music was marvelous and folks danced up a storm. Our hosts prepared a wonderful meal and Shel’s pitcher of Margaritas is always very popular.
Shortly after we arrived and had lunch at the Giggling Dolphin we visited the main square and mission “Nuestra Senora de Loreto” (Our Lady of Loreto). This 17th century mission was the 1st development for Spain that began the entire California mission settlement. On our short tour and walkabout we managed to lose a couple from Colorado, (or they lost us) fortunately this was short lived and the group was reunited back at Yolanda’s RV park, “Rivera Del Mar”.
Our 2nd day in Loreto was a Sunday so many campers joined us at the market in the arroyo, some had breakfast others shopped, folks really enjoyed the experience for sure. We the returned to the RV park and gathered up everyone who wanted to see the “San Javier Mission”. The drive is spectacular and scenery stunning, the village and mission magical of course, no one was disappointed with the experience. later many of us went to Del Borracho for lunch, this authentic Texas Saloon is always a tour favourite, especially the ice cold Negro Modelo on tap!
