December 17, 2013 – Today we returned to the USA crossing before lunchtime from the Sordo Mudo RV Park on Hwy 3 in the Valley of Guadalupe. Everyone enjoyed the tour and tasting at LA Cetto, we basically had the winery to ourselves as we did the 3:30 pm tour on a Monday afternoon. Rueben was our guide and was well informed about the wine making process and the history of LA Cetto started in 1928.
Herman Hill – Baja Legend
December 10, 2013 – We recently learned that our friend Herman Hill passed away last Sunday, December 8, 2013. As you can imagine at 93 years old, or close to that, death can come quickly and sometimes unexpectedly, sometimes at that age you go to sleep and simply never wake up. I for one am in full support of that option for my ultimate demise on this earth. Not so much for Herman as he continued to drive on Baja, and that is how he came to his end, tragically in a car accident near San Quintin on Hwy 1 (we speculate).
Mellow in Mulege
December 8, 2013 – We have now arrived in Mulege as we continue to venture northward after spending 3 days on Playa Santispac. A few days ago we said our goodbyes in La Paz to Gerry & Ilona who decided to drop off at Campestra Maranatha, we are scheduled to pick them up on January 26, 2014. The picked a great location to spend some quality time for the next few weeks, so much to do and see in La Paz, particularly over the holidays. I know they will have so much to tell us when we see them again in the New Year.
La Paz, BCS Capital
December 2, 2013 – We arrived 2 days ago after 3 nights at Bobby & Wendy’s campground in Pescadero. We have exchanged peaceful nights listening to the surf break on the beach to traffic on Hwy 1 at Campestra Maranatha. The good news is Hot Showers and all the other amenities that come with a full service park.
El Arco Finally In Site
November 24, 2013–We arrived yesterday after a short but scenic drive from Rancho Verde at km 142 on Hwy 1. After we got set up I took the group to the Glass Blown Factory, they always have such a great selection and their prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately no cruise ships were in so the artists were not at work; however this is still a good stop. After we ventured thru the streets of Cabo and toured the port entrance returning along the main drag, sure not many tourists around.
