January 7, 2015 – When we arrived in Potrero most of our group had already arrived, as had the warmer weather, always a good sign. We headed off to the border the next day at 10:00 am as we were not using pre-paid tourist visas and were not certain hw much time this would take. Happy to report this process only took us an additional 30 t0 40 minutes. Interesting enough the price has increased to 332 pesos or $29 USD, when you do the math you see that paying in US funds definately cost more, at 14 pesos per 1 USD (now 14.64) the fee should be under $24 USD, not $29 USD.
Prospero Ano Neuvo: 2015 Has Arrived – Heading Back To Baja
January 1, 2015 – Well on Sunday, December we returned to Baja as I enrolled in a 5 day Spanish immersion course, unfortunately the weather changed, colder with rain in the forecast. Our first was to return to Sordo Mudo and meet with Ed Everret again, we had purchased some powdered drink mixes to donate to the school and then we were off to lunch to Ed’s favourite local restaurant, Vinos Fuentes in the Valle de Guadalupe, just a short drive from Sordo Mudo. This place was a remarkable find, food was wonderful, prices reasonable, we will be returning!
Baja Amigos 2014 Tour Finishes
December 10, 2014 – Well we returned to the US today after a modified 38 Day Tour, the folks we had with us were not big fans of the beach. We still maintained a reasonable pace with some quality R & R time. We took only one couple back as 3 couples dropped off in La Paz returning next month, Ferne took the Ferry to Mazatlan as planned and two couples departed from La Paz early (3rd day). Andrea & Marianne were anxious to get in some skiing, Randy & Liz were keen to get repairs made on their Class “A” which had been plagued with a number of issues, both on the road to Baja and in Mexico.
La Paz -We are here
December 1, 2014 – Well we arrived today in La Paz and have set up at Campestra Maranatha, a campground just north of La Paz in Centenario. Our visit to Todos Santos earlier today is always a favourite as many always look forward to the Hotel California experience. They have a wonderful Cultural Centre, Mission, Saints Alley and so many interesting shops.
Lands’ End in site-We have arrived at Cabo San Lucas
November 26, 2014 – Leaving Loreto we drove to Ciudad Constitucion and encountered road construction as you reach the summit and start the long decent into Ciudad Insuregentis, slow but necessary, only a small section of construction remains on the road west to town now. We stopped for fuel and our shop at Super Ley, always great produce and a great bargain on Wine (3 for 2).
