Baja Amigos was founded in 2009 by Dan and Lisa Goy, whose love for Baja, deep experience traveling the peninsula, and desire to share it with others became the foundation for everything we do today. What began as a passion for helping RV travelers experience Baja with confidence has grown over the years into one of the most trusted and respected RV caravan tour companies on the peninsula.
As Baja Amigos has grown, so has our appreciation for the people, culture, landscapes, and wildlife that make Baja such a special place to travel. Over thousands of miles, countless campfires, and years of shared experiences, our tours have been carefully shaped into adventures designed to help our guests experience the very best of Baja.
In 2025, Chris and Lindsay took over operations of Baja Amigos with a commitment to carry forward the legacy Dan and Lisa built while continuing to strengthen and improve the guest experience. Our goal is to honor the history of Baja Amigos while continuing to offer thoughtful itineraries, excellent support, and authentic Baja experiences for every traveler who joins us.
At the heart of Baja Amigos is our team of wagonmasters. Their passion, knowledge, and personal connection to Baja are the driving force behind the success of every tour. Year after year, they return not simply because they know the route, but because they love Baja and want to share that love with our guests.
Chris and Lindsay Harvey – Owner/Operators
Chris and Lindsay are the owners and operators of Baja Amigos RV Caravan Tours, carrying forward the company’s long-standing tradition of helping RV travelers experience the Baja Peninsula with confidence, preparation, and a deep appreciation for the region.
After years of traveling throughout Baja themselves, they developed a strong connection to the peninsula and a passion for sharing its people, culture, landscapes, and wildlife with others. Their own Baja story began as RV travelers seeking adventure, but over time it grew into something much more meaningful.
Through repeated journeys down the peninsula, they came to understand that Baja is not simply a destination, but an experience shaped by the communities, relationships, traditions, and natural beauty found along the way. That perspective continues to guide the way they approach every tour.
As the authors of RVing and Camping the Baja Peninsula, Chris and Lindsay have spent years helping travelers better understand what to expect when RVing in Baja, from road conditions and campgrounds to border crossings, insurance, safety, and day-to-day travel logistics.
Their goal has always been to make Baja feel more approachable for RVers while still honoring the adventure, flexibility, and cultural richness that make travel in Mexico so rewarding.
In 2025, Chris and Lindsay took over operations of Baja Amigos with a desire to honor the legacy built by Dan and Lisa Goy while continuing to strengthen the experience for future guests. As owners and operators, they work closely with the team of wagonmasters to support each caravan, refine itineraries, and ensure guests are prepared, welcomed, and encouraged to experience Baja in a way that is both safe and deeply memorable.
Dan & Lisa Goy – Founders
Dan and Lisa Goy’s first camping vacation in Mexico was in 1985, when they traveled in a Class B motorhome with their two young children, who were just two and four years old. While their parents and friends were convinced they might never be seen again, the four-month adventure became a life-changing experience.
They traveled the length of Baja, moving from beach to beach, before taking the ferry from Cabo San Lucas to Puerto Vallarta on the mainland. From there, they spent much of December near Acapulco in Pie de la Cuesta and were later invited to celebrate Christmas with a Mexican family in Mexico City before returning home to British Columbia.
That first journey changed the course of their lives. Dan and Lisa fell in love with Mexico and continued to embrace RV travel there whenever possible, making it a regular part of their winters beginning in 2002. For them, camping in Mexico has always been about far more than tropical weather and beautiful beaches.
It is the culture, customs, generosity, and warmth of the Mexican people that have made the experience so meaningful. Over the years, they found that friendships made along the way often became friendships for life.
Their love for Mexico played a pivotal role in their decision to start Baja Amigos RV Caravan Tours in 2008.
Lisa brought more than 25 years of experience organizing camping, adventure, and group activities for families through Girl Guides of Canada, while Dan brought over 30 years of experience working with people across diverse sectors, including government and tourism.
Together, they combined their skills, experience, and passion for Mexico to create RV tours designed to give guests the kind of meaningful, memorable travel experience that had impacted their own lives so deeply.
Dan and Lisa were married in 1978 in Burnaby, British Columbia, and have lived in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta before settling in Surrey, BC in 1988.
There, they raised three children, who are now adults. Family has always been part of their Baja story, including Lisa’s mother, Sylvia, who traveled and camped in Baja with them many times, most recently in 2015.
In February 2018, their family joined them in Baja once again, continuing the tradition of sharing Mexico, camping, and adventure across generations.

Meet our team of deeply passionate, highly qualified wagonmasters who enjoy leading our guests into the adventure and lifelong memories and friendships that come with traveling in our small group caravans!
Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington, Wagon Master
Freddie has spent over 30 years in administrative management in the legal field, and now spends most of his time in Baja.
Freddie, an American and Baja veteran, has driven the peninsula for 30 consecutive years. Growing up in southern California along the Mexican border, he is very familiar with Mexican customs and culture.
A long-time member of the Vagubundos del Mar Travel Club, Freddie joins Baja Amigos with years of experience leading tours and organizing events on Baja.
Dan & Lisa first met Freddie on Baja in 2017 and knew he had the “right stuff” and would be a good fit for Baja Amigos.
Freddie is a world traveler and has experienced life on a number of continents. His hobbies include fishing, hunting and photography, and he now lives full-time in Loreto, BCS.
Tiffani
Baja Amigos is proud to introduce our newest wagon master, Tiffani, to the Baja Amigos Caravan RV Tours team. Tiffani completed her first touring season in 2025-2026 season with glowing reviews!
What started as a love for adventure has turned into a dream opportunity for her. Tiffani recently retired after 14 years as a successful small business owner (grooming, training and boarding dogs), which coincided with her youngest child graduating high school.
She inquired about becoming a wagon master after having a life-changing experience as a guest with Baja Amigos. After training with both Chris and Lindsay and Freddie, Tiffani set off to lead her first tour with the enthusiasm, love for Baja and genuine concern for her guests that stands out among our team.
While she may be new to Baja Amigos, Tiffani isn’t new to exploring and leading people-she’s been doing that all her life. Growing up in Southern California, she spent much of her high school years traveling to Baja with friends. Tiffani’s love for adventure and life-long conservation brings a fresh and infectious passion for those who seek all that the Baja Peninsula offers: tasty food, amazing culture, friendly people and breathtaking encounters with nature.
Tiffani is an aquaholic! Her hobbies include: SCUBA (all things water), photography, watercolor painting, beach combing, making gourmet food to share with friends, and traveling with her furkids, Kermit & Beans. Her most recent accomplishment, after 14 months of design, teardown to ribs and rebuild, is the completion of the buildout of her sprinter van, which she affectionately calls the land yacht “Beluga.”
Jim & Rhonda Delameter ~ Ryder Delameter
Jim & Rhonda of The Next Big Adventure have been traveling Baja since 2015. They have spent multiple winters exploring the entire peninsula and have led two previous Baja Amigos Caravan Tours. It is a passion to share their love for the Mexican people, their culture, and their food with others.
After decades in the travel industry exploring the world, they continue to be drawn to the stunning waters, the varying landscape, and the mission history of the region. Not to mention the fish tacos!
They have lived in several states, and spent extended time in various countries around the world. After leaving corporate life in 2015, Jim & Rhonda spent several years exploring Mexico, while also managing RV Parks in several states in the Western USA. Most recently, they have called the Oregon Coast home, but are always happiest while out and about in the world. They run an online travel business, are bloggers, and Rhonda is a freelance travel writer.
Scott McEwen
Scott McEwen is a native Californian, born and raised in Southern California. Scott and his wife, Sherry, have resided for the past 30 years on their small ranch in the Sierra foothills north of Bakersfield.
Scott retired from the California Department of Corrections as a Warden after a 28-year career.
Scott’s first trip to Baja was in the early 1960s with kids from the local YMCA, riding in the back of a truck, camping on the beach south of Ensenada. There, he was bitten by the Baja bug and has made Baja and Mexico his getaway place ever since.
Scott has led numerous RV caravans for the Vagabundos del Mar travel club and is an avid fisherman.
He continues to be an active member of Vagabundos and is currently the Vice-President of the club. Scott travels with his trusty sidekick, Della, a rescue dog who is also a Baja veteran. Unfortunately, Scott’s wife is not able to travel with him due to health and family concerns.
Scott is very friendly and approachable, always is search of the best Baja taco. The search continues with every trip, always grateful for another opportunity.
